UNIBADAN Resorts To Using 4.0 Grading System For its Freshmen

UI has announced officially that the grading system is now 4.0 in the orientation held on the 22nd of February. 


Consequential to the new method, a new method of calculating the CGPA has been dictated. 


C.A=40marks consisting of assignments and practicals
Exam=60 marks

SCORE CATEGORY

0-39=F9.          0point
40-49=D1.       1point 
50-59=C2.       2point
60-69=B3.       3point
70-100=A1.     4point

GRADING CATEGORY

1.0-1.09-3rd class
2.0-2.99-2nd class lower
3.0-3.49-2nd class upper 
3.5-4.0  -1st.  Class

Example;

let's imagine this is A's results in 100l

English -70
Biology -70
Chemistry -89
Physics-71
Math-   72                       

English -3 unit course
Biology -3 unit course
Chemistry -3 unit course
Physics-3 unit course
Math-3 unit course



Since all the scores are above 70 or 70+ so all the points will be 4points


A's CGPA will be

English -      3 X 4=12
Biology -      3 X4=12
Chemistry - 3 X4=12
Physics-      3 X4=12
Math-           3X4=12

Total.                    =60

Total number of unit course is 15unit

So his CGPA will be =60/15=4point I.e First Class.

NOTE-: This grading scale is strictly for freshers.
