The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Trinity College Dublin, University of Dublin is offering two Faculty Masters scholarships for Non-EU eligible graduate applicants. These scholarships will be awarded to pursue a full-time masters degree at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in the academic year 2017-2018.


A Masters programme in SLLCS is a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and skills through postgraduate studies in specific subject areas that will equip students with advanced intercultural competencies necessary for negotiating an increasingly interconnected world.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing the master programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded within the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures.

List of Subjects: The School of Languages. Literature and Cultural Studies offers the following Masters Programmes: MPhil in Comparative Literature MPhil in Early Irish MPhil in European Studies MPhil in Literary Translation MPhil in Medieval Language, Literature and Culture MPhil in Textual and Visual Studies

Scholarship Award: The one-year scholarships will consist of non-EU fee remission of €5,000 in the 2017/18 academic year.

Scholarship can be taken in Ireland

Eligibility: Applicants will need to hold at least a 2.1 honours degree from an Irish university or equivalent result from a university in another country.

Nationality: Non-EU students can apply for these scholarships.

College Admission Requirement

English Language Requirement: All applicants whose first language is not English and who have not been educated through the medium of English must present one of the following qualifications in the English language:

IELTS: Grade 6.5 (No section less than 6.0)TOEFL: 90 – internet based (with a written score of 21)University of Cambridge:Proficiency Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2)Advanced Certificate, Grade C or better (CEFR Level C1 or C2)Pearson Test of English (Academic) – PTE Academic: a minimum score of 63 to be eligible (with no section score below 59)


How to Apply:

Applicants should complete the application and should submit a supporting statement of the motivation of approximately 500 words outlining their reasons for applying for the course and their main areas of academic interest.

Applicants who wish to be considered for the scholarship should complete the application process online before submitting their statement of motivation to the Director of Postgraduate Teaching and Learning via email.
